2 Chronicles 5:13-14
13And when the trumpeters and singers were joined in unison, making one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and other instruments for song and praised the Lord, saying, For He is good, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever, then the house of the Lord was filled with a cloud,
14So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.

2 Chronicles 6:23
23Then hear from heaven and do; and judge Your servants, requiting the wicked by bringing his conduct upon his own head, and justifying the [uncompromisingly] righteous by giving him according to his righteousness (his uprightness and right standing with God).

2 Chronicles 20:21

10Then [Ezra] told them, Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet drink, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. And be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold.

Nehemiah 9:11-17
11You divided the sea before them, so that they went through its midst on dry land; their persecutors You threw into the depths, as a stone into mighty waters.
12Moreover, by a pillar of cloud You led them by day, and by a pillar of fire by night to light the way they should go.
13You came down also upon Mount Sinai and spoke with them from Heaven and gave them right ordinances and true laws, good statutes and commandments.
14And You made known to them Your holy Sabbath and gave them commandments, statutes, and a law through Moses Your servant.
15You gave them bread from heaven for their hunger and brought water for them out of the rock for their thirst; and You told them to go in and possess the land You had sworn to give them.
16But they and our fathers acted presumptuously and stiffened their necks, and did not heed Your commandments.
17They refused to obey, nor were they mindful of Your wonders and miracles which You did among them; but they stiffened their necks and in their rebellion appointed a captain, that they might return to their bondage. But You are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great steadfast love; and You did not forsake them.

Nehemiah 9:19-21
19You in Your great mercy forsook them not in the wilderness; the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day to lead them in the way, nor the pillar of fire by night to light the way they should go.
20You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, and withheld not Your manna from them, and gave water for their thirst.
21Forty years You sustained them in the wilderness; they lacked nothing, their clothes did not wear out, and their feet did not swell.

6Then, if you are pure and upright, surely He will bestir Himself for you and make your righteous dwelling prosperous again.

Job 11:13-20
13If you set your heart aright and stretch out your hands to [God],
    14If you put sin out of your hand and far away from you and let not evil dwell in your tents;
15Then can you lift up your face to Him without stain [of sin, and unashamed]; yes, you shall be steadfast and secure; you shall not fear.
16For you shall forget your misery; you shall remember it as waters that pass away.
17And [your] life shall be clearer than the noonday and rise above it; though there be darkness, it shall be as the morning.
18And you shall be secure and feel confident because there is hope; yes, you shall search about you, and you shall take your rest in safety.
19You shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid; yes, many shall sue for your favor.
20But the eyes of the wicked shall look [for relief] in vain, and they shall not escape [the justice of God]; and their hope shall be to give up the ghost [to die].

Job 22:21-30
21Acquaint now yourself with Him [agree with God and show yourself to be conformed to His will] and be at peace; by that [you shall prosper and great] good shall come to you.
22Receive, I pray you, the law and instruction from His mouth and lay up His words in your heart.
23If you return to the Almighty [and submit and humble yourself before Him], you will be built up; if you put away unrighteousness far from your tents,
24If you lay gold in the dust, and the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brook [considering them of little worth],
25And make the Almighty your gold and [the Lord] your precious silver treasure,
26Then you will have delight in the Almighty, and you will lift up your face to God.
27You will make your prayer to Him, and He will hear you, and you will pay your vows.
28You shall also decide and decree a thing, and it shall be established for you; and the light [of God's favor] shall shine upon your ways.
29When they make [you] low, you will say, [There is] a lifting up; and the humble person He lifts up and saves.
30He will even deliver the one [for whom you intercede] who is not innocent; yes, he will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands.

Job 23:8-12
    8Behold, I go forward [and to the east], but He is not there; I go backward [and to the west], but I cannot perceive Him;
9On the left hand [and to the north] where He works [I seek Him], but I cannot behold Him; He turns Himself to the right hand [and to the south], but I cannot see Him.
10But He knows the way that I take [He has concern for it, appreciates, and pays attention to it]. When He has tried me, I shall come forth as refined gold [pure and luminous].
11My foot has held fast to His steps; His ways have I kept and not turned aside.
12I have not gone back from the commandment of His lips; I have esteemed and treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.

26He prays to God, and He is favorable to him, so that he sees His face with joy; for [God] restores to him his righteousness (his uprightness and right standing with God--with its joys).

Job 36:5-7
5Behold! God is mighty, and yet despises no one nor regards anything as trivial; He is mighty in power of understanding and heart.
6He does not prolong the life of the wicked, but gives the needy and afflicted their right.
7He withdraws not His eyes from the righteous (the upright in right standing with God); but He sets them forever with kings upon the throne, and they are exalted.

Proverbs 1:2-7
2That people may know skillful and godly Wisdom and instruction, discern and comprehend the words of understanding and insight,
3Receive instruction in wise dealing and the discipline of wise thoughtfulness, righteousness, justice, and integrity,
4That prudence may be given to the simple, and knowledge, discretion, and discernment to the youth--
5The wise also will hear and increase in learning, and the person of understanding will acquire skill and attain to sound counsel [so that he may be able to steer his course rightly]--
6That people may understand a proverb and a figure of speech or an enigma with its interpretation, and the words of the wise and their dark sayings or riddles.
7The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning and the principal and choice part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; but fools despise skillful and godly Wisdom, instruction, and discipline.

Proverbs 2:1-11
1My son, if you will receive my words and treasure up my commandments within you,
    2Making your ear attentive to skillful and godly Wisdom and inclining and directing your heart and mind to understanding [applying all your powers to the quest for it];
3Yes, if you cry out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,
4If you seek [Wisdom] as for silver and search for skillful and godly Wisdom as for hidden treasures,
5Then you will understand the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of [our omniscient] God.
6For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7He hides away sound and godly Wisdom and stores it for the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with Him); He is a shield to those who walk uprightly and in integrity,
8That He may guard the paths of justice; yes, He preserves the way of His saints.
9Then you will understand righteousness, justice, and fair dealing [in every area and relation]; yes, you will understand every good path.
10For skillful and godly Wisdom shall enter into your heart, and knowledge shall be pleasant to you.
11Discretion shall watch over you, understanding shall keep you,

Proverbs 2:20-22
20So may you walk in the way of good men, and keep to the paths of the [consistently] righteous (the upright, in right standing with God).
    21For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the men of integrity, blameless and complete [in God's sight], shall remain in it;
22But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the treacherous shall be rooted out of it.

Proverbs 3:5-10
5Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
6In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
7Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.
8It shall be health to your nerves and sinews, and marrow and moistening to your bones.
    9Honor the Lord with your capital and sufficiency [from righteous labors] and with the firstfruits of all your income;
10So shall your storage places be filled with plenty, and your vats shall be overflowing with new wine.

Proverbs 3:11-26
11My son, do not despise or shrink from the chastening of the Lord [His correction by punishment or by subjection to suffering or trial]; neither be weary of or impatient about or loathe or abhor His reproof,
12For whom the Lord loves He corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.
13Happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) is the man who finds skillful and godly Wisdom, and the man who gets understanding [drawing it forth from God's Word and life's experiences],
14For the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver, and the profit of it better than fine gold.
15Skillful and godly Wisdom is more precious than rubies; and nothing you can wish for is to be compared to her.
16Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand are riches and honor.
17Her ways are highways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18She is a tree of life to those who lay hold on her; and happy (blessed, fortunate, to be envied) is everyone who holds her fast.
19The Lord by skillful and godly Wisdom has founded the earth; by understanding He has established the heavens.
20By His knowledge the deeps were broken up, and the skies distill the dew.
21My son, let them not escape from your sight, but keep sound and godly Wisdom and discretion,
22And they will be life to your inner self, and a gracious ornament to your neck (your outer self).
23Then you will walk in your way securely and in confident trust, and you shall not dash your foot or stumble.
24When you lie down, you shall not be afraid; yes, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet.
25Be not afraid of sudden terror and panic, nor of the stormy blast or the storm and ruin of the wicked when it comes [for you will be guiltless],
26For the Lord shall be your confidence, firm and strong, and shall keep your foot from being caught [in a trap or some hidden danger].

Proverbs 3:33-35
33The curse of the Lord is in and on the house of the wicked, but He declares blessed (joyful and favored with blessings) the home of the just and consistently righteous.
34Though He scoffs at the scoffers and scorns the scorners, yet He gives His undeserved favor to the low [in rank], the humble, and the afflicted.
35The wise shall inherit glory (all honor and good) but shame is the highest rank conferred on [self-confident] fools.

Proverbs 4:5-17
5Get skillful and godly Wisdom, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation); do not forget and do not turn back from the words of my mouth.
6Forsake not [Wisdom], and she will keep, defend, and protect you; love her, and she will guard you.
7The beginning of Wisdom is: get Wisdom (skillful and godly Wisdom)! [For skillful and godly Wisdom is the principal thing.] And with all you have gotten, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation).
8Prize Wisdom highly and exalt her, and she will exalt and promote you; she will bring you to honor when you embrace her.
9She shall give to your head a wreath of gracefulness; a crown of beauty and glory will she deliver to you.
10Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings, and the years of your life shall be many.
11I have taught you in the way of skillful and godly Wisdom [which is comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God]; I have led you in paths of uprightness.
12When you walk, your steps shall not be hampered [your path will be clear and open]; and when you run, you shall not stumble.
13Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; guard her, for she is your life.
14Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
15Avoid it, do not go on it; turn from it and pass on.
16For they cannot sleep unless they have caused trouble or vexation; their sleep is taken away unless they have caused someone to fall.
17For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.

Proverbs 4:18
18But the path of the [uncompromisingly] just and righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines more and more (brighter and clearer) until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day [to be prepared].

Proverbs 4:19-27
19The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble.
20My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings.
21Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart.
22For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.
23Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.
24Put away from you false and dishonest speech, and willful and contrary talk put far from you.
25Let your eyes look right on [with fixed purpose], and let your gaze be straight before you.
26Consider well the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established and ordered aright.
27Turn not aside to the right hand or to the left; remove your foot from evil.

Proverbs 8:1-36
1Does not skillful and godly Wisdom cry out, and understanding raise her voice [in contrast to the loose woman]?
    2On the top of the heights beside the way, where the paths meet, stands Wisdom [skillful and godly];
3At the gates at the entrance of the town, at the coming in at the doors, she cries out:
4To you, O men, I call, and my voice is directed to the sons of men.
5O you simple and thoughtless ones, understand prudence; you [self-confident] fools, be of an understanding heart.
6Hear, for I will speak excellent and princely things; and the opening of my lips shall be for right things.
7For my mouth shall utter truth, and wrongdoing is detestable and loathsome to my lips.
8All the words of my mouth are righteous (upright and in right standing with God); there is nothing contrary to truth or crooked in them.
9They are all plain to him who understands [and opens his heart], and right to those who find knowledge [and live by it].
10Receive my instruction in preference to [striving for] silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold,
11For skillful and godly Wisdom is better than rubies or pearls, and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
12I, Wisdom [of God], make prudence my dwelling, and I find out knowledge and discretion.
13The reverent fear and worshipful awe of the Lord [includes] the hatred of evil; pride, arrogance, the evil way, and perverted and twisted speech I hate.
14I have counsel and sound knowledge, I have understanding, I have might and power.
15By me kings reign and rulers decree justice.
16By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges and governors of the earth.
17I love those who love me, and those who seek me early and diligently shall find me.
18Riches and honor are with me, enduring wealth and righteousness (uprightness in every area and relation, and right standing with God).
19My fruit is better than gold, yes, than refined gold, and my increase than choice silver.
20I [Wisdom] walk in the way of righteousness (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation), in the midst of the paths of justice,
21That I may cause those who love me to inherit [true] riches and that I may fill their treasuries.
22The Lord formed and brought me [Wisdom] forth at the beginning of His way, before His acts of old.
23I [Wisdom] was inaugurated and ordained from everlasting, from the beginning, before ever the earth existed.
24When there were no deeps, I was brought forth, when there were no fountains laden with water.
25Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth,
26While as yet He had not made the land or the fields or the first of the dust of the earth.
27When He prepared the heavens, I [Wisdom] was there; when He drew a circle upon the face of the deep and stretched out the firmament over it,
28When He made firm the skies above, when He established the fountains of the deep,
29When He gave to the sea its limit and His decree that the waters should not transgress [across the boundaries set by] His command, when He appointed the foundations of the earth--
30Then I [Wisdom] was beside Him as a master and director of the work; and I was daily His delight, rejoicing before Him always,
31Rejoicing in His inhabited earth and delighting in the sons of men.
32Now therefore listen to me, O you sons; for blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are those who keep my ways.
33Hear instruction and be wise, and do not refuse or neglect it.
34Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
35For whoever finds me [Wisdom] finds life and draws forth and obtains favor from the Lord.
36But he who misses me or sins against me wrongs and injures himself; all who hate me love and court death.

Proverbs 9:9-11
9Give instruction to a wise man and he will be yet wiser; teach a righteous man (one upright and in right standing with God) and he will increase in learning.
10The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and choice part) of Wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding.
11For by me [Wisdom from God] your days shall be multiplied, and the years of your life shall be increased.

21The lips of the [uncompromisingly] righteous feed and guide many, but fools die for want of understanding and heart.

Proverbs 14:14
14The backslider in heart [from God and from fearing God] shall be filled with [the fruit of] his own ways, and a good man shall be satisfied with [the fruit of] his ways [with the holy thoughts and actions which his heart prompts and in which he delights].

9Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?

Proverbs 21:2-3
2Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs and tries the hearts.
3To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

Proverbs 22:17-21
    17Listen (consent and submit) to the words of the wise, and apply your mind to my knowledge;
18For it will be pleasant if you keep them in your mind [believing them]; your lips will be accustomed to [confessing] them.
19So that your trust (belief, reliance, support, and confidence) may be in the Lord, I have made known these things to you today, even to you.
20Have I not written to you [long ago] excellent things in counsels and knowledge,
21To make you know the certainty of the words of truth, that you may give a true answer to those who sent you?

Song of Solomon [Song of Songs] 8:6
6Set me like a seal upon your heart, like a seal upon your arm; for love is as strong as death, jealousy is as hard and cruel as Sheol (the place of the dead). Its flashes are flashes of fire, a most vehement flame [the very flame of the Lord]!

Isaiah 6:1-8
1In the year that King Uzziah died, [in a vision] I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and the skirts of His train filled the [most holy part of the] temple.
2Above Him stood the seraphim; each had six wings: with two [each] covered his [own] face, and with two [each] covered his feet, and with two [each] flew.
3And one cried to another and said, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!
4And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
5Then said I, Woe is me! For I am undone and ruined, because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!
    6Then flew one of the seraphim [heavenly beings] to me, having a live coal in his hand which he had taken with tongs from off the altar;
7And with it he touched my mouth and said, Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity and guilt are taken away, and your sin is completely atoned for and forgiven.
8Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

2And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him--the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord--
    3And shall make Him of quick understanding, and His delight shall be in the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord. And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, neither decide by the hearing of His ears;
4But with righteousness and justice shall He judge the poor and decide with fairness for the meek, the poor, and the downtrodden of the earth; and He shall smite (destroy) the earth and the oppressor with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.
5And righteousness shall be the girdle of His waist and faithfulness the girdle of His loins.

4And in that day you will say, Give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name and by means of His name [in solemn entreaty]; declare and make known His deeds among the peoples of the earth, proclaim that His name is exalted!
5Sing praises to the Lord, for He has done excellent things [gloriously]; let this be made known to all the earth.

Isaiah 26:3-4
3You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.

7The way of the [consistently] righteous (those living in moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relationship of their lives) is level and straight; You, O [Lord], Who are upright, direct aright and make level the path of the [uncompromisingly] just and righteous.

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]!

2It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellency of [Mount] Carmel and [the plain] of Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, the majesty and splendor and excellency of our God.
3Strengthen the weak hands and make firm the feeble and tottering knees.
4Say to those who are of a fearful and hasty heart, Be strong, fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance; with the recompense of God He will come and save you.
5Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6Then shall the lame man leap like a [deer], and the tongue of the dumb shall sing for joy. For waters shall break forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.
7And the burning sand and the mirage shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water; in the haunt of jackals, where they lay resting, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
8And a highway shall be there, and a way; and it shall be called the Holy Way. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for the redeemed; the wayfaring men, yes, the simple ones and fools, shall not err in it and lose their way.
9No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast come up on it; they shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk on it.

Isaiah 53:All
1Who has believed (trusted in, relied upon, and clung to) our message [of that which was revealed to us]? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been disclosed?
2For [the Servant of God, Jesus] grew up before Him like a tender plant, and like a root out of dry ground; He has no form or comeliness [royal, kingly pomp], that we should look at Him, and no beauty that we should desire Him.
3He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness; and like One from Whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him.
4Surely He [Jesus] has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy].
5But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
6All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord has made to light upon Him the guilt and iniquity of us all.
7He was oppressed, [yet when] He was afflicted, He was submissive and opened not His mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He opened not His mouth.
8By oppression and judgment He was taken away; and as for His generation, who among them considered that He was cut off out of the land of the living [stricken to His death] for the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due?
9And they assigned Him a grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in His death, although He had done no violence, neither was any deceit in His mouth.
10Yet it was the will of the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief and made Him sick. When You and He make His life an offering for sin [and He has risen from the dead, in time to come], He shall see His [spiritual] offspring, He shall prolong His days, and the will and pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.
11He shall see [the fruit] of the travail of His soul and be satisfied; by His knowledge of Himself [which He possesses and imparts to others] shall My [uncompromisingly] righteous One, My Servant, justify many and make many righteous (upright and in right standing with God), for He shall bear their iniquities and their guilt [with the consequences, says the Lord].
12Therefore will I divide Him a portion with the great [kings and rulers], and He shall divide the spoil with the mighty, because He poured out His life unto death, and [He let Himself] be regarded as a criminal and be numbered with the transgressors; yet He bore [and took away] the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors (the rebellious).
